LEYRE is a typeface and video mapping work developed for the 10th edition of Fény Fesztivál’s Video Mapping Competition, whose theme centers on Victor Vasarely’s Polychrome City. The typeface draws from Vasarely’s “plastic alphabets” and his modular system of geometric “plastic units,” reinterpreting his black-and-white period into a custom font. Named after the painting Leyre, it is conceived as a tribute to Vasarely’s vision of a universal, non-verbal visual language.
