The installation consists of two adjacent paintings, which together represent an abstract horizon and serve as a projection surface. On the first canvas, the projected video shows several significant images of the natural landscape of Isola della Cona and the local fauna. On the second, an abstract video shows close-ups of the water’s surface: reflections, patterns, movements. From this texture emerge vintage images taken from the Photographic Archive of the Consorzio di Bonifica della Venezia Giulia (Venice Giulia Land Reclamation Consortium). The work connects contemporary images and archival photographs through water, understood as an element of revelation and emergence.
